Capsule Geology

The NW Block E597559 showing area is underlain by marine sedimentary and volcanic rock of the Upper Triassic Stuhini Group. The stratigraphy is intruded by Eocene granite of the Major Hart Pluton and Early Jurassic monzodiorite to gabbro of the Texas Creek Plutonic Suite. Further west the area is underlain by Devonian to Permian sedimentary rocks of the Stikine Assemblage.

In 2010, a sample of quartz vein in Texas Creek intrusive assayed 1.65 grams per tonne gold, 0.19 per cent copper and 19.3 grams per tonne silver (Sample E597559, Assessment Report 32049).

In 2015, Romios collected 2 samples from 2 quartz veins located about 215 metres to the south-southwest of 2010 sample E597559. Sample 1430552, from a 2.5 centimetre wide quartz vein with clots of chalcopyrite, graded 0.62 per cent copper, 0.06 grams per tonne gold and 0.53 grams per tonne silver; sample 1430553, from a 6 centimetre wide quartz vein with coarse chalcopyrite mineralization, graded 0.21 per cent copper and 0.25 per cent silver (Assessment Report 35925). Also, a sample of a quartz vein up to 2.5 centimetre thick and containing up to 3 per cent chalcopyrite was taken about 200 metres northwest of 2010 sample E597559. The vein was hosted within feldspar porphyry diorite with pepperitic margins intruding an augite-rich hypabyssal rock. The sample graded 0.74 per cent copper 1.80 grams per tonne silver (Sample 1430556, Assessment Report 35925).

Work History

In June 2006, Romios carried out soil geochemistry, mapping and prospecting on the Porc and Royce claims that covered much of the lapse PL 8, 10 and 11 claims that Royce Industries had previously held and worked. These contain the Rolls Royce and Jeff showings.

In 2007 Romios Gold conducted their Aeromagnetic survey on their NW Block claims that once contained parts of the lapsed PL 7 and 13, 14, 16 and 17 claims (Assessment Report 21926 and 29696). They also held parts of those areas once held as Pl 8 and 10 claims but no aeromagnetic survey was done on those claims.

In 2010, Romios completed property wide mapping and prospecting, follow-up of geophysical anomalies seen in 2007 airborne surveys and geochemical rock sampling. Airborne geophysics showed two regionally continuous linear breaks in magnetics and a second northwest trending feature that is cut by the northeast trending feature. Magnetic highs on the property appear to be elongate in a northwest/southeast direction with an increase in magnetic response in the southeast of the property. In total, 9 rock samples were collected from the area.

Over the 2011 season, Romios completed exploration efforts over the NW Block in the form of investigating mineral trends, intrusion genesis, and related geochemical rock sampling. A total of 9 additional rock samples were collected.

During the 2012 exploration season, Romios Gold Resources conducted geochemical sampling and prospecting over the NW Block. Three rock samples were collected.

In 2015, Romios collected 13 rock samples for geochemical assay from mineralized and altered zones within the property.

Refer to the Roll Royce showing to the southwest (near Split Creek) for related details of Royce Industries' PL claims held in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Some of the PL claim area was later held as the NW Block by Romios.
